EnCompass CEO Tessie Tzavaras Catsambas Named AEA’s President-Elect

Written by: EnCompass Staff

EnCompass is proud to announce the election of our CEO, Tessie Tzavaras Catsambas, to a senior leadership position at the American Evaluation Association (AEA). She will serve a 3-year term as president-elect in 2018, president in 2019, and immediate past president in 2020.

AEA champions the use of evaluation to inform public policy, make better program decisions, and enhance organizational effectiveness. The organization has about 8,000 independent members from around the world.

Ms. Catsambas has been a member of AEA since 2002, most recently serving as Chair of the AEA International Working Group. Previously, she was the AEA representative to the International Organization for Cooperation in Evaluation. She says she is most proud of helping to build EvalPartners, a coalition that spans the globe, linking evaluation advocates at associations, development partners, governments, and parliaments to influence policymaking and program decisions, giving voice to all stakeholders equally.

Ms. Catsambas’ pledge to AEA members is to “nurture a vibrant evaluation community of practice that promotes partnership, scholarship, open exchanges, and mentorship; a community that welcomes and encourages young evaluators, delights in intellectual discourse, and makes space for differences in practice and thinking.” EnCompass prizes these values, and we have seen firsthand how they foster an innovative, collaborative community.

EnCompass also congratulates AEA’s newly elected board members-at-large, Eric Barela of Salesforce.org, Jara Dean-Coffey of Luminare Group, and Bianca Montrosse-Moorhead of the University of Connecticut.
