As a subcontractor to Engility, EnCompass provided training and facilitation, curriculum development, and e-learning design through an integrated core suite of training courses and specialized advanced training and advisory services to USAID, including the following:
Acquisition and Assistance (A&A) Management for Contracting Officer Technical Representatives/Agreement Officer Technical Representatives (COTRs/AOTRs)
EnCompass designed and facilitated an 8-day training for new USAID direct hires and Foreign Service Officers deploying to Afghanistan. In addition to providing the foundational knowledge and skills to effectively fulfill their roles as USAID representatives, this training guided them in completing all pre-deployment logistics.
EnCompass designs and implements human resource and performance management training for USAID in support of the Human Capital and Talent Management office. EnCompass designs and facilitates workshops, delivers proprietary and customized training, and facilitates a variety of staff developmental activities. In 2016, EnCompass addressed a range of staff performance management needs and developed a suite of six mandatory courses for all USAID supervisors. EnCompass provided support for USAID’s Development Outreach and Communications Officers (DOC) staff in USAID missions charged with communicating the value of U.S. foreign assistance to host-country audiences. The program provided workshops, training materials, and facilitated an exchange of best practices.
The USAID English Writing Proficiency Course is offered to improve the quality of the American English writing skills of Foreign Service Nationals whose primary language is not English. The focus is on experiential learning with hands-on individual and group writing exercises that are tied to USAID assignments and work situations. EnCompass offers this course in a basic and advanced version. Both workshops are 5-days are offered through EnCompass’ GSA Schedule – MOBIS and can be customized for different client systems.
EnCompass is a recipient of USAID's FORECAST II - PT funding mechanism. The FORECAST program works to strengthen the abilities of host country partners through strategically designed, integrated training and technical assistance activities that address identified skill gaps and that directly improve job performance. The goal of FORECAST II - PT is to effect long-term sustainable economic, political, and social development within the diverse categories of countries USAID serves.
EnCompass designed and delivered a three-day off-site staff training for USAID/Caucasus staff based in Baku for 30 participants. The training’s objective was to address current issues and develop collaborative communication processes. EnCompass conducted group meetings, individual interviews, and a staff survey, and incorporated results into the design of the training.
EnCompass facilitated a three-day all staff strategic planning and team building training for 90 USAID staff based in Tbilisi. The focus of the retreat was two-fold: strategic planning for the Country Development Cooperation Strategy CDCS process, and second, optimizing the leadership transition and team-building activities. The project included a pre-training assessment through online survey and interviews. Post facilitation, EnCompass provided a report that included an action plan and for recommendations for the Mission.
In 2010, EnCompass designed and facilitated an off-site retreat for USAID/Armenia mission staff that focused on effective management practices, teamwork, administrative streamlining, program processes, and communications. In advance of the retreat, EnCompass conducted an online staff survey and group and individual interviews with stakeholders and participants to inform the design.
EnCompass worked with the newly formed IDEA to integrate teams from what were previously six separate offices. A one-day retreat followed a survey, interviews with the senior leadership team, and focus groups to help launch the new Office. EnCompass also offered recommendations for managing culture change as the Office grows and implements its mission.
