EnCompass serves in Gender and Quality Improvement advisor roles for the AIDSFree project, which aims to improve the effectiveness of high-impact, evidence-based HIV interventions, and accelerate the speed with which these interventions are brought to scale at the country-level. EnCompass provides capacity development and technical support to USAID missions, host-country governments, and HIV/AIDS implementers as a subcontractor to John Snow, Inc.
EnCompass co-facilitated a skills-based, practical training course providing USAID staff with guidance on implementing the Gender Equality and Female Empowerment Policy, in order to identify best practices and lessons learned in integrating gender considerations across USAID’s Program Cycle.
EnCompass is responsible for multiple capacity building activities for the Africa Indoor Residual Spraying (AIRS) II program. Indoor Residual Spraying (IRS) is a highly effective tool in reducing malaria transmission. This program is part of the President's Malaria Initiative, which helps 19 host-countries in Africa and one region in Southeast Asia implement IRS programs and assess their effectiveness.
EnCompass designed and now delivers a blended learning program for senior staff in this United Nations (UN) Agency hot spots all over the world. The Learning Journey addresses the competencies and skills required for emergency programming and strategic and policy engagement for working with governments.
EnCompass designed and delivered the Leadership Development Program for USAID’s Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance (DCHA). The blended program focused on leadership in volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environments, for mid- and senior-level managers and supervisors. The program was delivered through two, multi-day face-to-face workshops, in-person coaching, and intersession collaboration and action learning practicums.
EnCompass delivered two core training programs to NCCC Team Leaders and Corps Members, ages 18-24, to develop their management competencies and deepen their understanding of cultural diversity issues. The Diversity in Service Training program addressed: increasing awareness of self, culture and identity; applying conflict resolution strategies and tools; understanding communications challenges in diverse cultures; and exploring multiculturalism.
EnCompass designed a two-module, four-month blended Management Development Program that emphasized a strengths-based management approach for this United Nations (UN) Agency, whose work is focused around agriculture and food security. The participants benefitted from on-line collaboration tools, individual coaching, face to face modules, on-line and paper resources, application activities, and peer coaching opportunities. The program educated participants on how to manage themselves and their teams more effectively.
EnCompass converted USAID’s Mentoring Training Course into a four-part series of online synchronous sessions. Working with a mentoring expert, EnCompass' synchronous designers adapted a previously PowerPoint-focused course into four engaging, interactive sessions during which mentors and mentees participated in exercises, engaged in group work, and developed a community of practice online. EnCompass also facilitated the series.
EnCompass developed a 40-minute e-learning resource to train USAID's new foreign service officers on how to complete their timesheets using WebTA, USAID’s internal timekeeping system. An interactive companion face-to-face training component was added to give learners an opportunity to apply and practice what they learned in typical on-the-job scenarios. EnCompass also designed a 20-minute e-learning module on how to complete USAID’s online forms and spreadsheets in order to submit travel reimbursement claims.
