In 2016 and 2017, EnCompass supported the USAID Performance Management and Support Program for Lebanon (PMSPL II) in conducting three education sector gender analyses across basic public education, higher education, and vocational training.

This toolkit was developed to support the implementation of the USAID Gender Equality and Female Empowerment Policy. It provides guidance and resources for USAID/Lebanon staff and implementing mechanisms (IMs) about how to integrate gender throughout USAID’s program cycle, including monitoring and evaluating. The Toolkit provides the following components: an overview of USAID’s policy guidance on gender integration; guidance on gender analyses and integrating gender into solicitations, monitoring, evaluating, and learning; and tools for gender integration.

EnCompass and ADVANTAGE consortia partner Cardno designed and wrote two sector-specific GBV Resource Guides for USAID staff: one focused on the Education sector, including school-related GBV; and, the other focused on the Energy and Infrastructure sector. A key strategy for maximizing financial resources and strengthening human resource capacity within and across countries is south-to-south technical assistance, defined as an exchange of expertise and resources between two or more developing countries on a bilateral, regional, subregional, or interregional basis.

In 2012 and 2013, AIDSTAR-One piloted the South-to-South Technical Exchange on Integrating PEPFAR Gender Strategies: Framework and Toolkit in collaboration with PEPFAR, Stepping Stones International in Botswana, and the Sonke Gender Justice Network in South Africa. This report summarizes the results of the assessment.
