Accurate and reliable data are essential to support assessment of countries’ needs and progress toward targets and help decision makers prioritize needs and investments. EnCompass and MSI developed these evidence briefs through the USAID Data and Evidence for Education Programs (DEEP) activity to provide a snapshot of the current educational situation in 20 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa. The briefs also feature data from all 20 countries across several indicators. Individually and as a collection, they enable national and regional comparison of each country’s progress and needs in the education sector. Target audiences include USAID’s Africa Bureau, USAID country missions, and partner country decision makers working toward the self-reliance in education programming.
