Through the ADVANTAGE IDIQ, EnCompass was engaged by USAID to design a course on how to integrate GBV prevention into USAID programming activities. The course, Integrating Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response across Sectors, is a blended program that engages participants at intervals over a 4-month period. The training includes virtual and face-to-face components, as well as practicum activities and a mentoring program.

EnCompass works with USAID’s Office of Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (GenDev) to update, deliver, and evaluate a blended learning program comprised of four courses for USAID/Washington and Mission staff worldwide:

Through the ADVANTAGE IDIQ, EnCompass conducted an assessment of the extent to which the USAID Gender Equality and Female Empowerment Policy has been implemented in USAID programs. The evaluation team identified successes and challenges encountered in implementing the Policy, gathered information about the impact of the Policy on USAID’s programming and development results, and identified gaps and lessons learned.

In 2001, UNAIDS was mandated by the United Nations General Assembly to support countries in monitoring progress in the Global AIDS Response and to report back on progress to the General Assembly. Progress has been measured against a set of 2010 and 2015 targets, based on a global monitoring framework which draws on a global indicator set.

The International Program for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET) at Carleton University contracted EnCompass to perform a strategic review. This evaluation served as a tool to help IPDET assess the relevance and sustainability of its current program, as well as to inform future strategy so that IPDET will be highly relevant to the needs of its intended audiences, effective in its delivery, and competitive in terms of its pricing. This evaluation used an iterative method of data collection through document review, semi-structured interviews, online surveys, and landscape analysis.

EnCompass worked collaboratively with the Margaret A. Cargill Foundation to support their Relief and Resilience International Program. This program is focused on the community level, supporting vulnerable populations in low-attention disasters, disaster risk reduction, and climate change adaptation in the Sahel, Central America, and South and Southeast Asia. EnCompass helped the Foundation refine the program’s theory of change and formalize a robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning plan.

EnCompass collaborated with a Rome-based Food Agency to create a suite of just-in-time performance support tools (job aids, templates, checklists, and short videos) for staff at country offices. In addition to the tools, EnCompass also designed an on-line learning platform-- where the tools are housed-- and developed and delivered a series of virtual instructor-led sessions on topics targeted to enhance and strengthen the expertise and capacity of agency leaders stationed at critical country posts.

Through this five-year blanket purchase agreement, EnCompass is supporting the Foreign Service Institute’s Leadership and Management School in its efforts to develop career leaders and managers in the Department of State and the larger foreign affairs community and offer mandated leadership training for mid through senior grade levels. EnCompass delivers leadership development courses on a variety of topics, consulting and organizational development services, and curriculum design, assessment and evaluation support.
