USAID, Gender Analysis for Transform: Primary Health Care (PHC) Consortium
EnCompass serves as gender advisor in a consortium, led by Pathfinder International, implementing USAID’s Transform: Primary Health Care project in Ethiopia. The consortium will work with USAID/Ethiopia and the Ethiopian Ministry of Health to advance gender equality and end preventable child and maternal deaths in four of the most populous regions in Ethiopia. EnCompass also provides assistance in capacity building and quality improvement initiatives in this role.
In Year 1, the team will work with the Ministry of Health to conduct a gender analysis that will lay the foundation for a Transform: Primary Health Care project Gender Strategy to guide the project’s gender activities.
With multiple EnCompass staff members seconded to Pathfinder International’s field offices, EnCompass has established an operations infrastructure in Ethiopia for this role.
This press release describes the role of the Primary Health Care project in the broader context of the Transform initiative. A brochure containing basic facts about the project is available at this link.
