EnCompass designed and implemented the evaluation of the quality improvement methodology, the improvement collaboratives model. This innovative rapid improvement approach to healthcare planning and delivery is focused on monitoring, knowledge sharing, and the refinement of standards to address local operational obstacles. The evaluation team documented the collaboratives model in 14 countries as applied to maternal health, HIV/AIDS, and hospital-based pediatrics. The team recorded good practices, and assessed the impact of the model in different countries and made field visits to six countries (Ecuador, Nicaragua, Niger, Russia, Tanzania, and Uganda). EnCompass operated as a subcontractor to University Research Corporation (URC) on this project.
