EnCompass Training Specialist, Christy Grimsley, recently traveled to Uganda, along with two consultants, to develop training designs for an Indoor Residual Spray project funded by USAID and implemented by Abt. The project is active in 10 districts in the northern part of Uganda, an area that has historically had some of the highest malaria rates in the world.
Since returning to Washington, DC, Christy and her colleagues have written five facilitator manuals covering a breadth of topics on Indoor Residual Spraying programming and processes. These manuals will be used by Abt and Ministry of Health trainers to increase the knowledge and capacity of those working in the community and at the sub-district and district levels.
