EnCompass conducted an evaluation for the USIP that assessed the effectiveness of a program to train new South Sudanese diplomats, and to build capacity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to do the training in the future. Data collection in the field included interviews and focus groups with trainers, alumni, and government officials.
EnCompass conducted a mid-term evaluation of LWR’s five-year strategic plan. The team analyzed the effectiveness of implementation and management of the plan, whether the staff embraces the plan, and the extent to which the plan reflects work being done in the field. The evaluation process included a staff survey, interviews, an appreciative workshop and virtual focus groups with field teams, conducted via Adobe Connect. The analysis used outcome mapping to assess LWR’s logic model and the cohesion of various plan components.
A grantee of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), FEFA is an independent, nonpartisan Institution working to ensure that all democratic processes are implemented transparently through networking, citizen participation, and good governance. EnCompass assessed FEFA's program management, administrative and financial capacities, and offered recommendations for future organizational strengthening. EnCompass used an appreciative evaluation process that included individual stakeholder interviews and group visioning discussions.
This program aimed to strengthen the ability of community groups, NGOs, and the Government of Albania to improve anti-trafficking prevention programs, as well as reintegrate survivors of trafficking and prevent re-trafficking. As a subcontractor to Creative Associates International, Inc., EnCompass designed and facilitated the project launch and three annual conferences with key stakeholders and conducted a participatory evaluation of the work nationwide.
EnCompass provided technical assistance to the Government of Botswana’s Ministry of Education and Skills Development to support the implementation of a curriculum to build life skills for school-going youth. The curriculum, Living Skills for Life: Botswana’s Window of Hope, is part of a major HIV prevention effort that targets every primary and secondary school student in the country.
EnCompass conducted an assessment of the Trans-Sahara Counter-terrorism Partnership (TSCTP) in Mali to gain a better understanding of what has worked in Mali to mitigate support for violent extremism. Through a desk review and extensive fieldwork, EnCompass assessed the current TSCTP program, and provided recommendations to target, reinforce, and replicate the best practices by using community-based, youth-based, and media outreach efforts.
EnCompass was a subcontractor to John Snow, Inc. for the AIDS Support and Technical Assistance Resources Program Task Order 1 (AIDSTAR-One), a mechanism to implement the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The AIDSTAR-One Project focused on HIV prevention, care, and treatment. EnCompass provided expertise in quality improvement, cost-effectiveness, policy, and gender equality.
As the evaluation and technical assistance partner for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded Global Libraries program, EnCompass helped explore ways in which libraries, as part of multi-sectoral partnerships, could support quick and efficient delivery of sustainable solutions to development challenges.
EnCompass supported IRI’s Office of Monitoring and Evaluation (OME) in strengthening its program monitoring and assessment efforts and evaluating strategies for moving forward. Through a desk review of OME’s policies, procedures and monitoring reports, and a series of individual interviews and focus groups with IRI stakeholders, EnCompass evaluated how OME helps its country programs implement M&E, including design, implementation and reporting effectively to donors.
EnCompass provides training and facilitation services to USAID employees at USAID/Washington and missions worldwide. In partnership with the Office of Human Capital and Talent Management (HCTM), EnCompass designs and delivers training throughout all phases of institution and individual development, from new employee orientations to management and leadership programs. The EnCompass team focuses on both technical skills and interpersonal skills to support employees’ growth from within so they are better equipped to address complex development issues in the field.
