EnCompass co-facilitates two 3-day modules delivered over a 3-month period with Daimler AG to cultivate a leadership mindset with new managers. The philosophy of this leadership program is based on systems theory and incorporates three phases: learning about leading self, leading others, and leading the business. EnCompass co-facilitates an average of 12 cohorts of 15-20 participants each year, and also provides executive coaching to senior leaders supporting targeted development and performance goals.  The program is delivered in North America, China, Singapore, Japan, and Brazil.

EnCompass designs and delivers four different global management and leadership development programs within a major organization of the United Nations (UN) in a variety of locations including New York, Geneva, Vienna, Santiago, Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Beirut, and Bangkok. These mandatory programs are delivered to 400-500 senior leaders and managers each year. The programs include multiple classroom modules, 360 assessments, individual coaching to integrate learning.

EnCompass delivered a management learning program (MLP) for a major United Nations (UN) agency that provides services to global locations in the field. Each 12-month MLP was designed to support 30 mid-level managers and includes a 360 assessment, self-study modules, individual coaching, peer learning groups, and a final five-day workshop delivered in Switzerland, Tanzania, and Hungary. An EnCompass team of coaches and facilitators provide individual and group coaching as well as classroom learning.

EnCompass designed and now delivers a learning program that targets the development of General Services and Administrative staff in core management skills outlined in the UN Competency Framework. The program includes two interactive face-to-face workshops with individual coaching, action learning activities between sessions, and supported engagement in an ongoing community of practice.

Undertone Employees

As part of the learning strategy to develop a common management culture, EnCompass designed and delivered a series of workshops addressing communication skills for managers. Participants practiced active listening skills, and learned how to use a feedback model and an approach for conducting coaching conversations. They also explored probing techniques related to Appreciative Inquiry and advocacy.

EnCompass delivered a series of leadership programs to senior executives and managers of Marriott’s IT (information technology) group, which includes some 1800 employees worldwide.  These programs included "Leading Through Influence", "Coaching for Performance", and "Leading Transitions". The programs were designed to engage participants in reflection within the context of their management challenges, using the latest leadership concepts and experiential methods. All courses were customized and linked to business objectives to achieve results.

EnCompass designed and delivered a blended leadership development training, mandatory for new supervisors at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Cohorts of 25 participants were engaged in eight, one-day, face-to-face workshops and a series of e-Learning modules. A Moodle-based portal was utilized for sharing program information, and for participants to meet and engage in virtual learning sessions.

This case study, published in Consulting Today, was written by EnCompass President Sherry Rockey and former EnCompass CEO Laverne Webb. The article illustrates the successful application of Appreciative Inquiry (AI) to aid the Dubuque, Iowa Housing and Community Development Department in mediating disputes about housing policies with landlords in that city.
