To help raise the skills of country-level United Nations technical staff in leading HIV prevention efforts and reducing new infections, EnCompass designed four customized regional workshops for staff in Southern Africa, Eastern Africa, Middle East and North Africa, and Latin America and the Caribbean. The curriculum addresses knowing the epidemic and response, national strategic planning, leadership skills, gender equality and human rights, cost analysis and best practices in prevention interventions.

As a subcontractor to Engility, EnCompass provided training and facilitation, curriculum development, and e-learning design through an integrated core suite of training courses and specialized advanced training and advisory services to USAID, including the following:

EnCompass designs and implements human resource and performance management training for USAID in support of the Human Capital and Talent Management office. EnCompass designs and facilitates workshops, delivers proprietary and customized training, and facilitates a variety of staff developmental activities. In 2016, EnCompass addressed a range of staff performance management needs and developed a suite of six mandatory courses for all USAID supervisors.  Among the standard courses EnCompass implements are:

USAID/Georgia Mission Staff

EnCompass facilitated a three-day all staff strategic planning and team building training for 90 USAID staff based in Tbilisi. The focus of the retreat was two-fold: strategic planning for the Country Development Cooperation Strategy CDCS process, and second, optimizing the leadership transition and team-building activities. The project included a pre-training assessment through online survey and interviews. Post facilitation, EnCompass provided a report that included an action plan and for recommendations for the Mission.

In 2010, EnCompass designed and facilitated an off-site retreat for USAID/Armenia mission staff that focused on effective management practices, teamwork, administrative streamlining, program processes, and communications. In advance of the retreat, EnCompass conducted an online staff survey and group and individual interviews with stakeholders and participants to inform the design.

EnCompass supported the senior management team of this United Nations (UN) Regional Commission through a number of organizational development activities to strengthen internal management systems and develop more effective and collaborative leadership processes. EnCompass conducted a needs assessment, after which two retreats were designed and facilitated. Following the activities and retreats, EnCompass provided coaching services to selected team members.

EnCompass worked with the newly formed IDEA to integrate teams from what were previously six separate offices. A one-day retreat followed a survey, interviews with the senior leadership team, and focus groups to help launch the new Office. EnCompass also offered recommendations for managing culture change as the Office grows and implements its mission.

EnCompass facilitated a culture change initiative for the senior management team to strengthen collaboration, learning and growth, and to retain high caliber people. Using a strengths-based approach, learning processes in this initiative focused on shared goals, communications, teamwork, and developing high-performance practices and accountability mechanisms for greater impact.

EnCompass provided executive coaching services to support executive directors through one-on-one sessions. The sessions were based on the emerging needs of the leader and were driven by action plans established early in the process. The coaching process also integrated data for each client from self-report surveys (MBTI) and a 360-degree feedback instrument.

This program for director-level staff included a three-day offsite workshop focused on key leadership competencies, group learning sessions, and an action learning assignment, supported by group coaching. The workshop was designed based on a series of assessment interviews with selected participants. A design team of stakeholders refined the program objectives and developed case studies for use in the program.
