Every October, our team of EnCompass evaluators prepares for the annual American Evaluation Association conference. This year, at Evaluation 2018 in Cleveland (October 29–November 3), evaluators with wide-ranging backgrounds will come together to reflect on the role of evaluation in “speaking truth to power,” asking what constitutes power and truth and what responsibilities evaluators have in these conversations. As we look forward to what is sure to be a lively debate, the EnCompass team is excited to be presenting our thoughts and experiences in a variety of ways—workshops, panel discussions, poster presentations, and more.

EnCompass Director of Strategic Initiatives, Beeta Tahmassebi, who will co-facilitate multiple sessions, appreciates everything the conference has to offer. “The AEA conference is a wonderful opportunity to come together and share ideas, grapple with challenging questions, and have fun together. We always walk away inspired by new ideas and energized about the role evaluations play in serving our clients and their beneficiaries around the world.”

Many EnCompass team members will join Tessie Catsambas, our CEO/CFO and AEA President-elect, at this year’s conference, including Amy Bhopal, Beeta Tahmassebi, Crystal Cason, Eleanor Vorys, Indu Chelliah, Kelsey Simmons, and Lynne Franco.
