Kris Eale
Kris Essosola Eale works as a Senior Public Health and Monitoring Evaluation Research and Learning (MERL) Specialist at Khulisa Management Services. At Khulisa, he leads the design and implementation of health research and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) projects throughout Africa, with a focus on data quality reviews.
Mr. Eale has worked in 15 countries throughout Africa, in Haiti, and elsewhere in the Caribbean. He has expertise in program/outcome evaluations and performance audits, including data quality audits and reviews in the health, agriculture, social development, and energy sectors. He also has extensive experience with performance monitoring, and the development of results, indicators, and data management systems (including recording and reporting tools, data quality reviews, and performance reporting). His expertise also extends to technical support of program implementation, including activities-related health systems strengthening, epidemiologic surveillance, and disease control. Finally, Mr. Eale is experienced in M&E capacity building, including training of program staff based on evaluation findings to strengthen data management systems.
Since 2015, Mr. Eale has led or participated in more than 20 data quality assessments, most recently in Somalia for the Global Fund and in Ethiopia and Tanzania for the East Africa Energy Program (Power Africa). He has experience recruiting, training, and managing research and DQA teams in the field, including in hostile environments, such as Haiti and Somalia. He is fluent in French and English.
