Regional Gender Officer, USAID Transform: Primary Health Care Project

Yidnekachew Legesse Jimma is EnCompass’ Regional Gender Program Officer in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples' Region of Ethiopia. He has 12 years of experience in clinical and public health, both in government and non-governmental organizations. He has worked in maternal, newborn, and child health; family planning; and STI/HIV. He also has teaching and project management experience.

Mr. Jimma holds a Master's degree in General Public Health and a training-of-trainers certificate in maternal, newborn and child health thematic areas, including community-based newborn care, integrated management of newborn and childhood illnesses, PAC and family planning and STI/HIV. He received a certificate of appreciation from Save the Children for his exceptional professional performance in 2016.
