Mark Nilles is a learning professional who uses evidence-based approaches to design, deliver, and evaluate learning solutions for improved workplace performance. His career has focused on international development—starting as a Peace Corps volunteer in Mali—and he believes learning is key to making the world a better place. His perspective is informed by years of training and capacity building for international development and humanitarian relief professionals around the world. Mark has supported youth employability programs in Palestine and Pakistan, life skills programs in Kyrgyzstan and St. Lucia, and Peace Corps volunteers in Mongolia and Ukraine. He has managed programs funded by bilateral agencies (USAID), private-sector partners, and foundations.
Mark has developed e-Learning courses, designed and implemented evaluations to measure the effectiveness and impact of training and other learning activities, and created credentialing programs that incentivize learners and allow them to demonstrate their experience and expertise. Mark shares his work through conference speaking, blogs, podcasts, and e-books. He holds an undergraduate degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a graduate degree in International/Intercultural Development Education from Florida State University.
