Mathoka Khaile
Gender-Based Violence Policy Specialist
Mathoka Khaile is a Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Policy Specialist at EnCompass, supporting the USAID Karabo ea Bophelo Project in Lesotho. Mr. Khaile has more than 10 years of experience in training, development, social policy management, gender, GBV prevention and response programming , and reporting on implementation of human rights treaties. Prior to joining EnCompass, he worked on the Lesotho COVID-19 Emergency Preparedness and Response Project, Lesotho Nutrition and Health Systems Strengthening Project, and Southern Africa Tuberculosis and Health Systems Support Project, all funded by the World Bank. His expertise lies in capacity strengthening, leadership development, adult learning, project management, and strategic planning. He has a vested professional interest in gender and inclusive development, sexual and reproductive health rights, education, disability mainstreaming, stakeholder engagement, and involvement of men and boys in GBV prevention and response.
Mr. Khaile has an MA in Gender Studies from the University of the Free State, an MBA from Management College of Southern Africa, an MPhil in Sexual and Reproductive Rights in Africa from the University of Pretoria, and a BA in Development Studies and French from the National University of Lesotho. He is fluent in English, French, and Sesotho and speaks a bit of Isizulu.
