Senior Gender and Inclusive Development Advisor
Jennifer Pendleton serves as Senior Gender and Inclusive Development Advisor, bringing over 15 years of experience in gender, human rights, and international development. She has worked with governments, development partners, and civil society in Africa, Asia, and the MENA region supporting design and implementation of gender-responsive policies, programs, and services; leading gender trainings, analyses, and capacity assessments; and promoting legal reform for women’s rights and equitable access to health care and community services.
A licensed attorney, Ms. Pendleton’s work on GBV and gender equality has sought to bridge public policy and governance-focused approaches with community-based, grassroots initiatives. Her past experience includes serving as the gender technical lead for various global and country-focused USAID-funded health and governance projects; coordination of international outreach campaigns and capacity development initiatives for a global partnership of women’s rights NGOs; supporting community-based health care and sanitation reform advocacy in Ghana; and providing litigation strategy support for post-conflict legal responses to sexual and gender-based violence. Ms. Pendleton also served in Peace Corps Morocco, working on women’s business development and coordinating gender and development programs for in-country volunteers, staff, and partners.
Ms. Pendleton holds a JD from Harvard Law School and a BA in Public Policy Studies from Duke University.
