Senior Capacity Building Advisor, DHS
Gisele Dunia serves as the Senior Capacity Building Advisor for The Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) program. She implements and oversees interventions related to The DHS Program Global Capacity Strengthening Strategy. Dr. Dunia has 15 years of experience in clinical and managerial capacity building, coaching and mentoring, team building, and organizational strengthening, and she has worked with complex developing country programs at the local, national, and global levels. She also has technical expertise in reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (RMNCAH), HIV/AIDS, nutrition, and malaria. Before joining EnCompass, Gisele was a Technical Advisor at University Research Co., LLC, providing technical support to USAID-funded projects for RMNCH programs as well as agriculture and food security programs with related health systems components, in line with global best practices.
Dr. Dunia has an M.B.A. in Information System Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University, an M.P.H. in International Development from Université Libre de Bruxelles, in Belgium, and an M.D. from University of Lubumbashi in DR Congo. She is fluent in English and French. She also speaks Swahili, Haitian Kreyol, and Lingala.
