This report summarizes an action planning meeting EnCompass designed and facilitated with the Tanzania police force to develop recommendations for the Police Gender and Children’s Desks’ 2017–2020 Action Plan. The meeting also built capacity on topics such leadership, women’s empowerment, and adherence to the Tanzania Police Force codes of conduct.
In the fall of 2000, the World Bank Institute (WBI) presented a challenging evaluation task to EnCompass–to develop an evaluation methodology for its two primary training programs. WBI training programs were under increasing pressure to demonstrate results from both the internal evaluation unit and external donors. The desired outcomes of the training programs, however, had not been clearly defined and some of the workshop managers were hesitant to commit to the evaluation process.
In our role as Gender advisor on the AIDSFree project, EnCompass developed this pocket guide to provide peer educators with tools to deliver training to prison inmates and staff about HIV and tuberculosis (TB) prevention and treatment. It contains six modules and was developed in both English and Swahili.
