EnCompass conducted a mid-term evaluation of LWR’s five-year strategic plan. The team analyzed the effectiveness of implementation and management of the plan, whether the staff embraces the plan, and the extent to which the plan reflects work being done in the field. The evaluation process included a staff survey, interviews, an appreciative workshop and virtual focus groups with field teams, conducted via Adobe Connect. The analysis used outcome mapping to assess LWR’s logic model and the cohesion of various plan components.
Latin America and the Caribbean
EnCompass was a subcontractor to John Snow, Inc. for the AIDS Support and Technical Assistance Resources Program Task Order 1 (AIDSTAR-One), a mechanism to implement the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The AIDSTAR-One Project focused on HIV prevention, care, and treatment. EnCompass provided expertise in quality improvement, cost-effectiveness, policy, and gender equality. EnCompass developed guidance for integrating a gender-based violence (GBV) response in PEPFAR programming.
The Gates Foundation Global Libraries (GL) Program aims to build strong and healthy communities, businesses, and learning environments in developing countries around the world by providing free access to computers and the internet in public libraries. EnCompass provided capacity building assistance to grantees of the program, and delivered customized support to country grantees' impact evaluation teams. Activities included: developing and delivering training in M&E best practices, training for impact data collection and analysis, and technical assistance on communicating results.
EnCompass supported the launch of a comprehensive strategy to intensify the fight against HIV/AIDS in the workplace throughout World Bank country offices. EnCompass conducted needs assessments, developed a results framework, and promoted learning activities and train-the-trainer workshops in six World Bank regions. EnCompass designed training approaches for World Bank staff in five regions of the world on HIV/AIDS.
To help raise the skills of country-level United Nations (UN) technical staff in leading HIV prevention efforts and reducing new infections, EnCompass designed four customized regional workshops for staff in Southern Africa, Eastern Africa, Middle East and North Africa, and Latin America and the Caribbean. The curriculum addresses knowing the epidemic and response, national strategic planning, leadership skills, gender equality and human rights, cost analysis and best practices in prevention interventions.
As a subcontractor to Engility, EnCompass provided training and facilitation, curriculum development, and e-learning design through an integrated core suite of training courses and specialized advanced training and advisory services to USAID, including the following:

EnCompass and its partner Georgetown University’s Center for Intercultural Education and Development (GU-CIED) supported USAID/Mexico's scholarship program for Master's degree students in education, peace and natural resource. The students were placed in universities in Mexico and the United States. The EnCompass team ensured that students successfully completed their degree programs and re-entered their local communities in order to share their new skills and perspectives with their colleagues.
The USAID English Writing Proficiency Course is offered to improve the quality of the American English writing skills of Foreign Service Nationals whose primary language is not English. The focus is on experiential learning with hands-on individual and group writing exercises that are tied to USAID assignments and work situations. EnCompass offers this course in a basic and advanced version. Both workshops are 5-days are offered through EnCompass’ GSA Schedule – MOBIS and can be customized for different client systems.
EnCompass co-facilitates two 3-day modules delivered over a 3-month period with Daimler AG to cultivate a leadership mindset with new managers. The philosophy of this leadership program is based on systems theory and incorporates three phases: learning about leading self, leading others, and leading the business. EnCompass co-facilitates an average of 12 cohorts of 15-20 participants each year, and also provides executive coaching to senior leaders supporting targeted development and performance goals. The program is delivered in North America, China, Singapore, Japan, and Brazil.
EnCompass has designed and delivered four different global management and leadership development programs within a major organization of the United Nations (UN) in a variety of locations including New York, Geneva, Vienna, Santiago, Addis Ababa, Nairobi, Beirut, and Bangkok. These mandatory programs are delivered to 400-500 senior leaders and managers each year. The programs include multiple classroom modules, 360 assessments, individual coaching to integrate learning.
