The USAID English Writing Proficiency Course is offered to improve the quality of the American English writing skills of Foreign Service Nationals whose primary language is not English. The focus is on experiential learning with hands-on individual and group writing exercises that are tied to USAID assignments and work situations. EnCompass offers this course in a basic and advanced version. Both workshops are 5-days are offered through EnCompass’ GSA Schedule – MOBIS and can be customized for different client systems. EnCompass also delivered a three-day executive writing course to USAID Washington from 2009-2012.

EnCompass worked with Oceana, the largest international advocacy organization focused on ocean conservation, as the DC-based NGO’s learning and development partner. Having experienced enormous growth in the last 3 years, Oceana has 16 offices in North America, Central America, South America, Europe and Asia. Beginning in 2015, EnCompass was hired to work with Oceana leadership to develop a learning and development framework to guide on-boarding of staff and a full year of development for new staff, with the goal of creating a “One Oceana” culture throughout the growing organization. Since 1984, the DHS has collected and disseminated high-quality data that helps decision makers plan, monitor, and evaluate population, health, and nutrition programs. The DHS has conducted some 260 surveys in over 90 developing countries on infant and child mortality, fertility, maternal health, child immunization, and malnutrition levels. The Evaluators’ Institute (TEI) has been a leading provider of professional training for evaluation capacity building for more than 20 years. In 2016, EnCompass officially took over management of all operations, including the planning and delivery of multiple training conferences per year. Through TEI, EnCompass offers evaluation professionals training at all levels and all steps of the evaluation process, from the inception of a project through implementation and the delivery of findings to maximize use and impact. Participants can combine TEI trainings for professional evaluation certification at the beginner, intermediate, and master evaluator levels.

Under a five-year contract with USAID, EnCompass manages the Global Health Professional and Organizational Development (GHPOD) II program. GHPOD’s role is to provide professional and organizational development support to USAID’s health sector staff around the world to build their capacity to lead and manage health programs. Through the GHPOD mechanism, EnCompass provides a variety of training and learning programs to build capacity in technical areas, program management, leadership, personal and team effectiveness, retreats and strategic meetings, and staff performance management. Through the ADVANTAGE IDIQ, EnCompass was engaged by USAID to design a course on how to integrate GBV into USAID programming activities. The course, Integrating Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Response across Sectors, is a blended program that engages participants at intervals over a 4-month period. The training includes virtual and face-to-face components, as well as practicum activities and a mentoring program.
