Having experienced enormous growth in the last 3 years, Oceana has 16 offices in North America, Central America, South America, Europe and Asia. In its aim to end global hunger, the World Food Programme (WFP) is striving to plan and commission independent, credible and useful evaluation evidence across the organization. With this in mind, WFP asked EnCompass to co-design and implement a comprehensive learning programme to build the capacity of all of its staff in evaluation principles and management. The Evaluation Learning Programme (EvalPro) targets all staff with the skills and knowledge they require to engage with or manage evaluations. EnCompass designs and implements human resource and performance management training for USAID in support of the Human Capital and Talent Management office. EnCompass designs and facilitates workshops, delivers proprietary and customized training, and facilitates a variety of staff developmental activities. EnCompass designed and delivered a blended leadership development training, mandatory for new supervisors at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Cohorts of 25 participants were engaged in eight, one-day, face-to-face workshops and a series of e-Learning modules. EnCompass designed and now delivers a blended learning program for senior staff in this United Nations (UN) Agency hot spots all over the world. The Learning Journey addresses the competencies and skills required for emergency programming and strategic and policy engagement for working with governments. It includes two e-learning modules, a series of virtual instructor-led sessions with assignments integrated on a Moodle platform, and a 3-day, face-to-face workshop to apply the concepts taught in the online sessions. Following the training components, participants engage in action learning assignments, some of which include one-month TDYs in L3 emergencies where, supported by Agency mentors, they apply learning on the job.

EnCompass designed a two-module, four-month blended Management Development Program that emphasized a strengths-based management approach for this United Nations (UN) Agency.  The participants benefitted from on-line collaboration tools, individual coaching, face to face modules, on-line and paper resources, application activities, and peer coaching opportunities. EnCompass worked with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS) Hospital Engagement Network (HEN) to engage staff in a network of 38 hospitals, in order to decrease 10 specific adverse patient outcomes. Online meetings were facilitated by EnCompass for participants to share stories and focus on successful reduction of adverse events. EnCompass recorded best practices, which were turned into benchmarking case studies and developed into e-learning practice sessions for hospital teams. EnCompass also supported weekly online “affinity groups” that bring together targeted staff from these hospitals around specific adverse outcomes.

EnCompass was a subcontractor to John Snow, Inc. for the AIDS Support and Technical Assistance Resources Program Task Order 1 (AIDSTAR-One), a mechanism to implement the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The AIDSTAR-One Project focused on HIV prevention, care, and treatment. EnCompass provided expertise in quality improvement, cost-effectiveness, policy, and gender equality. EnCompass, as a subcontractor to John Snow International, was responsible for policy, quality improvement, and development of e-learning packages in support of the AIDSTAR Program, a USAID mechanism to implement the US Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

The goal of AIDSTAR’s e-learning program was to “disseminate good, promising and proven practices in HIV/AIDS service delivery.” In support of this goal, EnCompass developed the Pediatric HIV Service Delivery e-learning program. This e-toolkit is aimed toward those involved in leading and managing pediatric HIV care and treatment programs, and adapting these programs to recommendations from the World Health Organization.
