EnCompass designs and implements human resource and performance management training for USAID in support of the Human Capital and Talent Management office. EnCompass designed and now delivers a blended learning program for senior staff in this United Nations (UN) Agency hot spots all over the world. The Learning Journey addresses the competencies and skills required for emergency programming and strategic and policy engagement for working with governments. It includes two e-learning modules, a series of virtual instructor-led sessions with assignments integrated on a Moodle platform, and a 3-day, face-to-face workshop to apply the concepts taught in the online sessions. Following the training components, participants engage in action learning assignments, some of which include one-month TDYs in L3 emergencies where, supported by Agency mentors, they apply learning on the job.

Under subcontract to the Joint Commission Resources, EnCompass worked with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' (CMS) Hospital Engagement Network (HEN) to engage staff in a network of 38 hospitals, in order to decrease 10 specific adverse patient outcomes. Online meetings were facilitated by EnCompass for participants to share stories and focus on successful reduction of adverse events. EnCompass recorded best practices, which were turned into benchmarking case studies and developed into e-learning practice sessions for hospital teams. EnCompass also supported weekly online “affinity groups” that bring together targeted staff from these hospitals around specific adverse outcomes.

EnCompass was a subcontractor to John Snow, Inc. for the AIDS Support and Technical Assistance Resources Program Task Order 1 (AIDSTAR-One), a mechanism to implement the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The AIDSTAR-One Project focused on HIV prevention, care, and treatment. EnCompass provided expertise in quality improvement, cost-effectiveness, policy, and gender equality. EnCompass, as a subcontractor to John Snow International, was responsible for policy, quality improvement, and development of e-learning packages in support of the AIDSTAR Program, a USAID mechanism to implement the US Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
The goal of AIDSTAR’s e-learning program was to “disseminate good, promising and proven practices in HIV/AIDS service delivery.” In support of this goal, EnCompass developed the Pediatric HIV Service Delivery e-learning program. This e-toolkit is aimed toward those involved in leading and managing pediatric HIV care and treatment programs, and adapting these programs to recommendations from the World Health Organization. EnCompass delivered a management learning program (MLP) for a major United Nations (UN) agency that provides services to global locations in the field. Each 12-month MLP was designed to support 30 mid-level managers and includes a 360 assessment, self-study modules, individual coaching, peer learning groups, and a final five-day workshop delivered in Switzerland, Tanzania, and Hungary. An EnCompass team of coaches and facilitators provide individual and group coaching and classroom learning.
In 2012 EnCompass redesigned key components of this program from hard copy to e-learning modules. The e-learning modules include an updated curriculum, exercises for application with immediate feedback, and an assessment of learning in progress.
