EnCompass is proud to announce we are a sponsor of the 2018 Gender 360 Summit in Washington, D.C., happening on June 11! This event, hosted by FHI 360, will explore the intersections of education, health, economic empowerment, and gender-based violence among youth.
The 5th global summit’s theme is Positive Girl and Boy Development. Sessions and speakers will highlight innovative approaches and produce action-oriented recommendations on how positive girl and boy development – across gender identity, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity, and disability – can strengthen development outcomes.
EnCompass has invited three speakers to present at the summit: Heran Abebe Tadesse, our Senior Gender Advisor for the Transform: Primary Health Care Project, will speak on a panel entitled "Transforming Harmful Social Norms: Ending Early Forced Marriage, Strengthening Education and Economic Empowerment"; Fazel Rahim, EnCompass' Gender and Training Specialist, will give a Lightning Talk during the afternoon; and Mamello Molapo, Senior Gender-based Violence Advisor for AIDSFree in Lesotho, will be joining by video as a featured speaker in the morning.
As a co-sponsor of the 2018 Gender 360 Summit, EnCompass is excited to play a key role in summit discussions on gender-based violence and male engagement to advance gender equality. While registration for this event is closed, you can join the summit via livestream here.
