Sarah Byrne is EnCompass’ Gender Integration Specialist II, supporting USAID/DREAMS and other AIDSFree projects, the Transform: Primary Health Care project, and the Benin PSHPA project. With a technical focus in gender, GBV, youth, and HIV/AIDS, she has worked in international development for over 10 years on projects in Kenya, Lesotho, Moldova, South Sudan, Albania, Ethiopia, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Zambia. Ms. Byrne has three years of experience designing and implementing DREAMS projects in Kenya and Lesotho, including managing the in-country technical team; she also played a central role in a gender needs assessment, a GBV assessment, and a gender strategy. She previously worked as an HIV/AIDS Educator with the Peace Corps in Ethiopia.
Ms. Byrne holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in International Development and Social Change from Clark University.
