Janina Yates supports EnCompass’ Learning and Leadership Development team by providing programmatic and operational support. Prior to joining EnCompass, Ms. Yates facilitated projects in Washington, D.C. as well as throughout Latin America, focusing primarily on youth development, leadership, and gender-based violence prevention. Ms. Yates spent three years in Botswana as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer working with clinics and local organizations to enhance HIV prevention education. She also worked as a Youth Outreach Coordinator in El Salvador, recruiting youth to join music programs aiming to eliminate gangs and delinquency. Ms. Yates holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American Studies and Political Science from the University of Arizona and is a current candidate for a Master of Arts degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University's School of International Service.
