Gender Integration Specialist
Emily B. Brown supports EnCompass’ gender portfolio with gender integration, qualitative research and data analysis, and technical assistance. Previously, Ms. Brown was a Technical Officer, Gender at FHI 360, where she provided short-term technical assistance to projects including designing qualitative research studies, performing gender analyses, and developing and conducting trainings. She served as a gender specialist on proposals of up to $200 million on health, women’s economic empowerment, education, behavior change communication, civil society, and technology in Africa and Asia. An effective project manager, she executed the Gender 360 Summits in 2014, 2015, and 2016 and managed FHI 360’s U.K. DFID-funded Girls’ Education Challenge program.
Ms. Brown has also worked in U.S. politics, including with the House of Representatives Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, the political action committee EMILY’s List, and the U.S. Department of Justice. Ms. Brown received her Master’s degree in International Development Studies with a focus on gender in post-conflict situations from the Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University.
